This car is fresh off a class and overall win at SCCA Time Trials in Sebring, FL and ready to face off with you at Virginia International Raceway next month.

In case you’re not already familiar with our 2004 Corvette Z06, the goal of Project Ultimate Corvette is to take GM’s fiberglass sports car and explore virtually every avenue to make it faster.

How’d we do that?

We dropped in a built LS3 good for 455 horsepower, fed it a steady diet of ethanol, replaced the rear leaf springs with coil springs, added plenty of downforce, and upgraded to a big-brake kit to stop everything on a dime.

What’s the car’s greatest strength on track? We defer to the Corvette’s driver, our own J.G. Pasterjak:

It’s easy to drive. Very forgiving and neutral.
